Defendant emotional as images of Jennifer Hudson’s nephew are shown in court

April 25, 2012
Reports came out of the Chicago Tribune that William Balfour had his head hung as low as it could go drowning in his own tears Wednesday as photos of Jennifer Hudson’s slain nephew flashed in a courtroom, but not everyone was there to see it. The empty bench in the fourth row of spectators spoke volumes: for a second straight day, the Academy Award-winning actress and her sister were absent from the courtroom as graphic images were shown on a large screen and autopsy reports on her nephew, mother and brother were detailed by forensic pathologists.

The “Dreamgirls” star and her sister — the dead boy’s mom — refused to see what jurors saw — an image on a large courtroom screen of the blood-soaked body of little Julian King, who had been shot in the head.

Hudson’s former Sister’s Husband, William Balfour is accused of  executing the child after abducting him from the family’s home in chicago, following the killing’s of the singer’s mother and brother in 2008.

Balfour showed little signs of emotion while whipping what is said to be pretend tears from his eye’s with a tissue.

Tuesday, the prosecution showed jurors photographs of the bloodied bodies of Hudson’s mother and brother. Hudson shut her eyes and held on to a spectators’ bench as a police officer described coming across her family’s bloodied bodies. Hudson left the courtroom before the grisly pictures were projected onto a screen.
Jennifer Hudson took the witness stand for about 30 minutes Monday in sometimes tearful testimony. Hudson, who was in Florida at the time of the shootings, testified that she was dismayed when she learned in 2006 that her sister was going to marry Balfour, whom she said she always disliked.
If convicted of at least two of the murder counts, Balfour would face a mandatory life sentence.

911 Recording

Prosecutors then called her sister to the stand and began playing a recording of the 911 call Julia Hudson made after discovering their mother’s bloodied body.
“Oh my God, oh my God,” she is heard yelling at a dispatcher, who tells her to stop screaming because he can’t understand her. “My momma, my momma!”
all my prayers to the hudson family..
